During the summer months, Aloe Vera can easily become a must have in your daily skincare routine. Aloe Vera has alkalizing properties which help to balance your skin’s PH levels. Here at Baraka Shea Butter, we naturally believe that Shea Butter needs to be added to that list! SO, with this dynamic duo, your skin will thank you this summer!

Ingredients:

  • 4 ounces Baraka Shea Butter
  • 1/2 ounce Vitamin E oil
  • 1.5 ounces jojoba oil
  • 1 ounce vegetable glycerin
  • 2 teaspoons aloe vera gel
  • 1 tablespoon rice powder
  • 20 drops of your favorite essential oil

Directions:

  1. Wear your protective gloves and ensure that all the ingredients are available and easy to reach.
  2. Measure the ingredients precisely and set them aside in sequence for easy access.
  3. Now set up a double boiler on the stove. Ensure that you use low-medium heat.
  4. Add the Shea butter to the double boiler and allow it to melt. Use a wooden stirrer to mix to ensure uniformity in melting.
  5. Once the Shea butter has melted, remove it from heat and cool slightly.
  6. Now add in your vitamin E and jojoba oil. Mix well.
  7. At this stage, add in your aloe vera gel, rice powder, and vegetable glycerin. Use a wooden spatula to combine.
  8. Once all these ingredients are combined well enough, you can add in your essential oil at this point.
  9. Using a hand whisk or preferably an electric beater, whip your aloe vera butter to the required texture and consistency.
  10. Ensure to not over whip, or otherwise, this mixture will split.
  11. Once the desired whipped form is achieved, pour in your whipped aloe vera butter into mason jars for storage.
  12. This batch of Aloe Vera butter can be used for up to six months in case of proper storage.
  13. To ensure product efficacy and prolonged shelf life, keep the container out of direct sunlight in a cool and dry place.

This is an anhydrous formula, therefore it doesn't need a preservative. If you would like to use a preservative, we recommend Georgard ECT, or Optiphen+. You only need a small amount, but please check with your supplier for the correct percentage of usage
